Acute Inpatient Care for Adolescents
The adolescent inpatient program at Centennial Peaks treats patients ages 13 to 17 by providing psychiatric stabilization and around-the-clock care for patients experiencing critical symptoms. Critical symptoms may include suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and/or psychotic features. An additional critical symptom includes being considered “gravely disabled,” which means an individual is unable to care for themselves, putting their life or others in danger.
Our clinical team is comprised of nurses, case managers, social workers, therapists, psychiatrist, and other mental health specialists. The team works with each patient to provide an individualized treatment plan. The main focus of the plan is to relieve symptoms of emotional crisis and help the patient regain control of his or her life.
As soon as a patient is admitted, we begin planning for a successful return to the community and daily life. These plans may include continuing care with the attending physician, partial hospitalization, an outpatient treatment program or other community resources.
