LEVELS OF CARE
Acute Inpatient Program
This program treats 13-18 year-old individuals (12
year-olds on a case-by-case basis) in an intensive
therapeutic structure, providing psychiatric
stabilization and 24-hour nursing care for patients
experiencing critical symptoms. Critical symptoms
include suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation and/or
psychotic features. Another critical symptom is being
considered “gravely disabled,” which means an individual
is unable to care for themselves, putting their life or
others in danger.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The PHP provides the structured programming of our
mental health inpatient program while allowing the
patient to return home in the evening. Most often, this
is a step-down program for clients who have completed
inpatient treatment at Centennial Peaks.
Residential Treatment Center (RTC)
The RTC program provides longer-term care, for
adolescent patients 13 to 17 years-old with psychiatric
and/or chemical dependency issues. This program
incorporates a structure-based Behavior Modification
Model dedicated to providing our patients and their
families with skills training and the tools to be
successful. Adolescents in this program have 24-hour
nursing care, individual sessions with physicians, four
to five group sessions per day and access to our
in-hospital school program. They attend one weekly
individual session with a therapist and one family
session per week. Length of stay is determined on a
case-by-case basis and is flexible depending on the
clinical needs of the adolescent.
